Site Provides Improved Media Player, Navigation, Search and Shareability
CENTENNIAL, Colo. – May 3, 2010 – Colorado Public Radio (CPR) announces the launch of its fully revitalized website at www.CPR.org. CPR is the only statewide, two-channel network offering 24-hour in-depth news and classical music.
Based on more than a year's work gathering and studying listener input, the new website is the culmination of CPR's new brand strategy unveiled earlier this year, uniting both news and classical music networks under Colorado Public Radio at CPR.org. The upgraded CPR.org platform improves the overall listener experience with:
- An easy-to-use media player for in-depth news and classical music
- One-click tools for users to share content via e-mail and social media networks
- Improved search capabilities for news, music and more content at CPR.org
- Personalization of the site's display adn content using a directory of widgets
CPR.org's clean, updated look incorporates the new brand and its sunburst of quotation marks, reflecting meaningful conversation inspired by CPR's news and classical music programming.
“It was conversation, in fact, that initially drove CPR's website enhancement project and will continue to fuel its ongoing evolution,” said CPR Vice President of Marketing Bob Schenkein. “We really paid attention to the changes listeners wanted for CPR.org. The resulting website broadens the listening experience by giving them greater access to news and classical music programming wherever and whenever they want.”
In addition to broadcasting NPR programs such as Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation and All Things Considered, and BBC World Service, CPR News features and timely reports provide in-depth coverage of events and issues that have the greatest impact on the state and the region. A turn of the dial brings listeners to around-the-clock classical music from the most extensive classical music library in the state of Colorado, representing more than 30,000 CDs and hundreds more in-studio recordings.
To help users navigate and utilize all the new site has to offer, CPR.org provides quick links to CPR's most popular news and music content and step-by-step demonstration videos about searching and listening.
In the near future CPR will roll-out additional enhancements to its web presence, including a monthly e-newsletter for members, a press room complete with organization and staff information, and surveys to further involve users in new developments for the site.
