Jim East is Promoted to Vice President of Development
CENTENNIAL, Colo. – February 14, 2013 – Advancing Colorado Public Radio’s (CPR) long-term philanthropic growth, Jim East was recently named the new vice president of development. East most recently served as CPR’s director of membership.
In his new role, East will oversee underwriting and membership, helping to grow revenue while creating new opportunities and finding new sources for major giving.
“Over the last seven years, Jim has been the driving force behind the growth of CPR’s membership, specifically helping to refocus and streamline the organization’s on-air fundraising strategy,” said Senior Vice President of Development Sue Coughlin. “The result has been a 106-percent increase in the amount of revenue generated from Pledge Drives, much of which can be directly attributed to Jim’s keen insight and expertise.”
“I’m thrilled with this opportunity and look forward to developing innovative ways to fund programs that people in the community value so much,” said East. “We’ll continue to engage with trusted partners and provide the highest quality service to our active membership base.”
East joined CPR in 2006. He has more than three decades of experience in radio, having begun his career at Maryland’s WOLC-FM. He eventually moved into public radio, taking on the role of associate general manager of programming at Boise State Public Radio in Idaho. East received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Oral Roberts University.
