A Way Out for Juvenile Offenders
There are about 50 prisoners in this state, serving life without parole, who were sentenced when they juveniles. One of them is Nathan Ybanez, who killed his mother when he was a teenager. Now, two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court today could change their fate. Justices are hearing cases out of Alabama and Arkansas in which young people were convicted of murder and put away for life. The court will decide if that’s cruel and unusual punishment. CPR's Andrea Dukakis reports.
