Can Disney Get Kids To Eat Better?
There’s a new voice in the campaign to slim down America’s kids: Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney Company is putting the kibosh on junk food ads during its shows. This is welcome news, according to Dr. Reggie Washington, Chief Medical Officer at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. "If we are going to really make inroads in the obesity epidemic we have to become partners, not adversaries with the food industry and other industries," he says. Dr. Jim Hill agrees. He heads the new Colorado Center for Health and Wellness in Aurora. Hill helped Disney develop these new nutritional guidelines and he speaks with Ryan Warner.
