Colorado Prepares For Severe Weather Season
A test on Tuesday will make sure the state's tornado warning system is ready to alert Coloradans when spring and summer weather turns dangerous. Colorado can expect more tornados this year than in 2011. That's because last year's tornado count was well below average. Forecasters are also preparing for thunderstorms, flash floods, high fire danger, and the state's deadliest weather threat, lightning. Colorado is number 2 in the country for lightning-related deaths. Colorado Public Radio's Mike Lamp talks with Bob Glancy, with the National Weather Service in Boulder. [Photo: NOAA]
