On the Education Beat -- January 2013
The gap between how well African-American and white students do in school was its narrowest at the height of desegregation, in the 1970s and 80’s. That’s when students of different races were bused to the same schools to learn together. A new study shows that since that era, schools across the nation have been re-segregating. Host Ryan Warner talks with CPR education reporter Jenny Brundin about the study. She also has a preview of education bills in the coming legislative session.
