System Reduces Wildlife Collisions
Drivers hitting wildlife are creating big problems. There are anywhere between 2,000 and 4,000 such collisions every year in the state. The Colorado Department of Transportation is testing a wildlife detection system on Colorado 160 near Durango to warn motorists of the danger. CDOT engineer Mike McVaugh tells Pat Mack the system is cutting down on accidents. [Photo: CDOT]
