It feels a bit like circling back to my very beginning here at Colorado Public Radio.

Bob Lafley, after many years as a host on CPR News, is returning to his roots on CPR Classical.

Bob was assistant music director when I started here in 1990. He held that position for 10 years -- arriving early each day, auditioning new classical recordings and getting them prepared to add to our playlist.

As I recall, he loved every single minute of it and we talked often about the music.

Bob hosted noon to 3 p.m. weekdays before leaving CPR and returning to host News in 2001. Now he’ll host Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons..

More than 25 years on, this is the homecoming of an old friend.

His passion for the music hasn't waned. And frankly, he never stopped sharing his stories about the music in the hallways here at CPR. It only makes sense he should be sharing them with you.

Welcome back, Bob.
