The Colorado Symphony on Tuesday announced a series of  marijuana-friendly “Classically Cannabis” concerts this summer featuring orchestra musicians.

The BYOC (bring your own cannabis) series includes performances May 23, July 18 and Aug. 15 at Space Gallery in Denver. A Sept. 13 date at Red Rocks is also in the works.

Edible Events, a catering company that “showcases the very best Colorado has to offer in the culinary, cannabis and art scene,” organized the concerts as a benefit for the orchestra.

“Like the Colorado Symphony, the cannabis industry is entrepreneurial, innovative and responsive to the people of Colorado,” Colorado Symphony CEO Jerome H. Kern said in a press release. “These businesses have expressed a willingness to support the Colorado Symphony’s mission. Our doors are open to any legal, legitimate business that wants to help.”

The symphony’s previous experiments in reaching out to niche audiences include “Beethoven & Brews” performances for beer lovers and a series of concerts for comic book fans.

Tickets for the first three Classically Cannabis concerts are $75. They go on sale at noon Wednesday.
