Hailed by the Strad magazine as “one of the young, yet great quartets of our time,” the Jerusalem Quartet has garnered international acclaim for its rare combination of passion and precision. If you were fortunate enough to hear the ensemble perform in Denver last fall, then you already know its lyrical brilliance and beauty. Though barely into their thirties, these musicians are already making a strong impression, made even stronger on this new release of Mozart String Quartets.
On the heals of their award-winning Haydn release, they step not a stone's throw away to the junior genius whom Haydn so greatly admired. The feeling was mutual, as this recording of Mozart String Quartets exhibits one of the six quartets Mozart dedicated lovingly to Haydn, asking him "to be their Father, Guide and Friend!" Indeed, in the hands of the Jerusalem Quartet, all three Mozart String Quartets receive the care of which they are worthy.
