Bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University; Graduate studies at Regent University and the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Since joining Colorado Public Radio in 2006, Jim has held positions in on-air fundraising, membership and development. He was named vice president of development in January, 2013.
Jim’s career in radio spans more than three decades. He’s held a variety of positions at stations with diverse formats including, news/talk, religious, top 40 and public radio stations. His first job in radio was at WOLC in Princess Anne, Maryland in 1979. Throughout the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Jim worked at KWON, KRMG, KXOJ, and also spent a year as a national news host for StandardNews in Virginia Beach before returning to WOLC as general manager in 1993.
Jim first ventured into public radio as associate general manager at Boise State Radio in 2001. He spent five years in there before moving to Colorado to serve as CPR’s on-air fundraising manager. Jim was promoted to membership director in 2007 and currently oversees the membership and underwriting departments, and supports CPR’s philanthropic giving initiatives as vice president of development.
