Colorado Public Radio is creating a digital news team led by our digital editor. We are looking to add an assistant digital editor and two digital reporter/producers to create a vibrant statewide news service for the news website. You would join a growing radio and digital newsroom, working with top-notch journalists and editors. Colorado is a state that is exploring some big ideas - legalized pot, fossil fuels versus renewables, urban vs. rural values, immigration, development vs. natural resources, the role of government in a purple state. We are looking for a web-savvy editor who lives and breathes in the digital space. The ideal candidate is a journalist with proven experience publishing digital news content across the web. The Assistant Digital Editor is a leader and tactician responsible for the daily operation of the news web properties on Colorado Public Radio. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for storytelling, understands the public radio mission, is comfortable in a deadline-driven workplace and nimble enough to managing shifting responsibilities.
Expert knowledge of web-publishing standards, social media and advanced storytelling techniques across the digital spectrum are crucial in this role. The Assistant Digital Editor must be able to communicate clearly to the audience and all levels of the organization.
