From art exhibitions exploring the theme of “NOW!” to symposiums discussing drug legalization, there’s no shortage of activities during the Biennial of the Americas Festival, which kicks off today in Denver.

A celebration of culture and ideas from the Western Hemisphere, 2015 Biennial activities take place in various venues throughout the city, including an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, a talkback on leadership and a concert featuring Denver band Flobots.

Performances and panel discussions continue through Sunday. Many of the visual art exhibitions and installations remain on display through the end of summer.

In-depth coverage of the Biennial on CPR News begins Thursday.
