The number of students enrolled in Colorado’s public schools continues to rise -- that includes lots of growth in online learning.

This school year, there are nearly 900,000 public school students, about 10,000 more than the previous year. The increase though, 1.1 percent, is slower than the average growth over the past twenty years. Colorado hasn’t seen a decrease in school enrollment since 1988.

Online schools are having some of the fastest growth – with an almost 10 percent increase over 2014. Denver Public Schools is still the largest district in Colorado, with more than 90,000 students.

The school district seeing the largest decrease in enrollment was Adams 50, northwest of Denver, dropping by 6.5 percent.
