Denver gets its first marijuana-friendly hotel

The Nativ Hotel will be Denver's first outwardly marijuana-friendly hotel when it opens Thursday, reports the Cannabist, and all it took was eight rooms with weed-friendly balconies. (The hotel asks that its patrons don't smoke inside.)

“Other hotels will fine you crazy amounts and kick you out,” owner Richmond Meyer told the site. “I’ve been kicked out of a hotel in Denver for smoking cannabis — it was a mid-tier, smaller hotel, and it was a few years back, but that’s the kind of stuff that won’t happen in our hotel.”

The hotel will serve marijuana-infused coffee, and later hopes to partner with local recreational pot shops.
