Denver Home Prices Continue To Climb

Chart: Case Shiller July 2016

Homes in Denver were worth almost 10 percent more in July of this year than they were at the same point last year. The S&P Case Shiller Home Price Index reports that’s nearly double the national growth rate.

That trend has been going on for years here. Denver’s been ranked at, or near, the top for home value growth since the recession ended.

What’s remarkable is the consistency of the growth – especially as the oil and gas industry suffers a prolonged downturn. Values have risen for most of the last five years. Over that time, home prices in Denver are up 50 percent.
