Denver Weed Doc ‘Rolling Papers’ Gets 2016 Nationwide Release

In 2016, theaters around the country will get a glimpse into how the Denver Post has decided to cover pot in the age of recreational marijuana.

Denver filmmaker Mitch Dickman and his team began shooting "Rolling Papers" on Jan. 1, 2014 -- the day Colorado legalized recreational marijuana. Now the film will open in theaters nationwide on Feb. 19, 2016.

The documentary premiered back in March at Austin's South By Southwest festival, where it landed a distribution deal, according to the Denver Post's The Cannabist site.

Dickman told the Denver Post he's excited to see the varied reactions:

“I think it will be extremely interesting to see the responses from those in the state, to those around the rest of the country, let alone the international release with over 60 countries.”
