KHIG's Program Director Len Williams says the station wanted programming that was creative and would cater to a "bustling business catagory" -- that lead them to marijuana.

Williams says knows there's an advertising ban on marijuana, but he says that he's providing programming, not advertising. The station even has it's own disclaimer: you must be 21 years or older to listen.

Talk radio industry expert Michael Harrison says the station's sustainability might prove to be a bigger challenge.

"It would certainly make a very very interesting radio show. It might make a very very interesting month of radio. Whether or not there could be a format for a station... I don't know how long that could be sustained."
