Boulder County officials are soliciting public comment on a draft of a multi-year plan to manage the threat a beetle called the emerald ash borer poses to the health of ash trees on county-managed properties.

The Daily Times-Call of Longmont reports that the draft plan suggests preemptively removing most of the ash trees over the next eight years and replacing at least some of those trees with other species.
