I-70 Through Glenwood Canyon Reopens

Motorists on Interstate 70 in northern Colorado will no longer see long delays as the highway has reopened through Glenwood Canyon and officials say there will be no future closures.

The Post Independent reports that I-70 opened Wednesday after crews finished installing fencing materials earlier than expected. The fencing was part of rock-fall mitigation work that began in February.

The mitigation project is not complete and westbound traffic will still be reduced to one lane at some points. Half-hour traffic holds may be necessary as crane work continues along the highway.
