Kaiser Permanente, Colorado's largest non-profit health plan, is furthering its expansion into mountain communities. The company announced a new primary care facility in Edwards on Tuesday.
Kaiser's presence in the mountains will help reduce health care costs in the area, a company official told the Vail Daily.
“In 2014 when we announced we were going to enter the Summit and Eagle county markets, one of the large insurers here lowered their rates by 8 percent, and in their press release, they cited us as one of the reasons,” said Brent Bowman, executive director of the nonprofit’s mountain Colorado service area.
Kaiser announced medical offices in Frisco earlier this year.
