More College Freshmen Need Remediation After High School

The number of Colorado high school graduates needing remediation when entering college increased slightly in the 2014-15 school year over the previous year.

According to this year’s state remediation report, students needing to take these basic skills classes went up from 34.2 percent to 35.4 percent. That’s about 7,500 graduates not ready for college. But almost two-thirds of students passed their remedial classes. That’s up from the previous year.
