No criminal charges should be filed against police in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jessica Hernandez, announced Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey Friday.

After reviewing the January shooting, Morrissey concluded "this was a defensive shooting by both officers."

Hernandez was killed while in a stolen vehicle in northeast Denver alleyway on Jan. 26. Police say that she drove at an officer and injured him. Medical records indicate that the officer's medical records indicate that he suffered a “possible avulsion fracture of the ankle,” Morrisey wrote in a letter.
