The Ambulance Experiment

Listen Now

Last summer, we met a Denver high school student who managed to send an ambulance to Sierra Leone. Tyler Quintana had visited that West African country and seen how much help it needed after a long, violent civil war. So, Quintana decided to focus on getting people to doctors more quickly -- by ambulance, rather than by foot. The nearest health clinc can be a long walk. The ambulance has been operating for about six months now, at a clinic in the city of Kabala. Ryan Warner talks with Quintana about monitoring its progress. Quintana is now a student at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
