It’s June in Colorado, which means classical music fans will be very busy for the next few months.

Summer festivals in places like Aspen, Vail, Central City and Breckenridge present hundreds of concerts each year. 

CPR Classical recently compiled a guide to 17 classical festivals for summer 2016. Here's a conversation about some of the upcoming festival highlights, hosted by Colorado Matters' Nathan Heffel.

Colorado College Summer Music Festival in Colorado Springs has one of the earliest starts of any Colorado music festival. It kicks off Sunday. Check out this 2015 performance of Bela Bartok’s “Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta” from the festival:
