The Astronauts Land in Hall of Fame

In the early 1960s, surf music was all the rage. The best-known group, of course, was the Beach Boys, but there were others, including a band from landlocked Boulder. The Astronauts recorded for RCA, one of the biggest labels of the time, and in 1963, they scored a hit single, “Baja.” Nearly 50 years later, the Astronauts are being inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Ryan Warner talks to Jim Gallagher, the band's original drummer, and G. Brown, curator of the hall of fame.
