That's according to Colorado's insurance commissioner.
Commissioner Margeurite Salazar says not every Coloradan who's received a letter from their insurance company saying their health policy is ending is necessarily being dropped.
She says a lot of the letters actually offer consumers renewals. And those whose policies are being dropped may get a second chance to keep them, after President Obama's announcement last week suspending certain Affordable Care Act rules.
"He did say that, plans that had been cancelled, he felt should be allowed to come back and open up again and offer them to people, so we're going to talk with our carriers on Friday and see if that's something they feel they can do," Salazar said.
Salazar spoke at a meeting in Greeley, Tuesday evening.
It was the first of a series her office is holding around the state to answer peoples' questions about the federal health law. Dates and locations of future meetings have not yet been announced.
