A Colorado doctor ranks among such dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth and David Rockefeller at least in Panama. Douglas Dennis is an orthopedic surgeon at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver. For years he’s led teams to South and Central America to do joint replacement surgeries through an organization called Operation Walk. But most of his work has been in Panama. This year, the country gave Dennis and his team the country’s top honor for non-nationals who’ve helped the country. That award is for Dennis’ work helping Panama’s poorest residents. Sadie Babits spoke with Dr. Dennis.
