Late last month, the video of a Denver East high school cheerleader being forced into a split went viral around the world -- at about the same time the head football coach at Highlands Ranch High School was reportedly moving a student's car off campus to avoid a search by a drug-sniffing dog.

Rhonda Blanford-Green is commissioner of the Colorado High School Activities Association. She spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner about the role the organization plays in supervising athletics, and whether coaches and athletic directors should play a bigger part in preventing abuse.
