Colorado Solar Pioneer Honored

Virgil Boggess got into solar energy because he thought it’d be a cool way to make money. And he believed Grand Junction had enough sun to make solar a real option for locals. That was more than thirty years ago. Today, Boggess is still in the business--his company, Atlasta Solar Center, was one of the few that survived some tough times in the 1980’s and 1990’s. For his efforts, Virgil Bogges, 60, recently got the first ever Lifetime Achievement award from the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association. Ryan Warner talks with Virgil Boggess.
