Colorado’s Art War

Listen Now

It’s known as Colorado’s Art War. In 1948 modern artists broke off from the Denver Artists Guild to hold their own show at the Denver Art Museum. There was name-calling and a lot of newspaper coverage. Now an exhibit at the Kirkland Museum in Denver tells the story of this war. Hugh Grant and Deborah Wadsworth are co-curators for the exhibit. Grant talks with CPR's Ryan Warner. (Interview originally aired June 16, 2011)
