Denver largely escaped the worst of the flooding, but that wasn't the case a hundred years ago. Cherry Creek was a small stream that caused big problems for the state's capital city. Starting in 1864, Cherry Creek flooded 19 times until a dam was built in the middle of the 20th century. Flooding of the South Platte River also led to destruction in and around Denver. Host Ryan Warner speaks with Erin Cole, the assistant state historian at History Colorado. ]
