Denver Musician Plays Elvis on Broadway

Listen Now

In the 1990s, musician Eddie Clendening made a name for himself in Denver playing rockabilly—that early style of rock and roll made popular by singers like Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent... and Elvis Presley. Now, Clendening is actually portraying a young Elvis in the Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet. It’s set in the Memphis recording studio of Sun Records on December 4th, 1956... the day Presley, Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash gathered for an impromptu jam session. The show is up for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
