Denver will go down in history as the city where the first African-American accepts a party’s nomination for president of the United States. That's a long way from the 1920’s, when Mayor Ben Stapleton openly pledged his support, “heart and soul,” to the Ku Klux Klan. But there's another, less well-known part of Denver's history that helped pave the way for Barack Obama’s nomination. KCFR's Adam Burke spoke to Grace Jordan and others from the early days of Denver's civil rights movement.
