The federal government announced Thursday it won’t try to stop recreational marijuana sales in Colorado and Washington. Voters in those states approved legalizing the drug last fall. The US Justice Department now says it will stay out of the way, as long as criminal enterprises don’t get involved in the states’ marijuana industries, and as long as pot is kept away from minors. Colorado State Representative Dan Pabon was part of a task force that spent months writing the state’s rules on recreational marijuana. He spoke with CPR's Pat Mack.
