Jack Barker's screensaver is a picture of a Haitian girl holding empty water bottles. He saw hundreds of children like her when he went to Haiti last year after the earthquake. They were all searching for safe drinking water. Today, in the face of a cholera epidemic, the need for clean water has grown. Barker’s trying to help. His company, Innovative Water Technologies is based in Rocky Ford. It makes a solar-powered purifier called “The Sunspring.” Barker’s been traveling back and forth since the earthquake installing them. He told CPR’s Sadie Babits what he saw on his first visit.
