How To Solve a Cold Case

Listen Now

In June of 2000, Denver resident Renee Ealy was murdered. And finally, just a few weeks ago, one of her killers, Marie Marone, was convicted. Marone's conviction follows that of John Vasquez, who was convicted in the case last year. It was the work of Denver Post reporter Kirk Mitchell that led to a break in the case. Mitchell writes a "cold case blog," about murder cases in Colorado that haven’t been solved. His blog has helped to solve several of these unsolved crimes. He's also the author of a recent book about another Denver cold case called “The Spin Doctor.” Mitchell spoke with CPR's Elaine Grant.
