How States Legislate Same-Sex Unions

Same-sex couples in Colorado could have many of the same rights as married couples. A bill that would create civil unions in the state is making its way through the legislature. It would allow same sex couples hospital visitation rights, child support, and custody among other things. Some states have already recognized same-sex relationships. Jack Tweedie is with the National Conference of State Legislatures and he talked with Ryan Warner about how these laws vary from state to state.
