Lack of Funds Puts Public Access to Land In Jeopardy

People who hunt and fish and camp in Colorado may have fewer options in the future. Colorado Parks and Wildlife, which leases 30 percent of the public lands it manages, doesn't have the money to pay for those leases. Jacy Marmaduke, who covers the environment at the Coloradoan in Fort Collins, talks with Colorado Matters about who owns the land, what the agency might have to give up, and proposed legislation that would allow Parks and Wildlife to raise fees and look at what to do about a future budget shortfalls.
