Attorneys hiring law school graduates say they’re nostalgic for the good old days. They say many of today's graduates aren’t prepared for the professional world. In particular, they say they lack the ability to think independently.

A legal reform institute at the University of Denver is trying to change that. The Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS) recently launched a national effort to do a better job training future attorneys. It's called "Educating Tomorrow's Lawyers."

Alli Gerkman is leading the effort. She speaks with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
