Rugged Wyoming lawman Walt Longmire returns in a new Western mystery from Craig Johnson, "Depth of Winter." Despite the chilly name, Johnson's latest novel sends Sheriff Longmire to the Chihuahuan desert of Northern Mexico after a drug lord kidnaps his daughter.
Johnson talked to Colorado Matters about his process for writing the latest Longmire escapade. The author will give a talk and sign books Wednesday night at the Lone Tree Arts Center.
