Maddy and the Mountain

Listen Now

Big ol’ blisters and altitude sickness didn’t faze a Boulder high school student in her recent attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at over 19-thousand feet. There were more important things than pain for Maddy Searchinger to focus on: collecting data on climate change and sharing what she learned with scientists and other students around the world. Host Ryan Warner talks with the Maddy about her recent climb, and with Gary Randolph, of Boulder-based Globe, the international hands-on science education program behind all this.
