Purple is the color political scientists use to describe a place that isn't safely in the hands of Democrats or Republicans. Tuesday’s recall elections underscore just how purple Colorado is, as we’ll hear from our guests. Longtime political scientists Bob Loevy and Tom Cronin are authors of the book “Colorado Politics and Policy: Governing a Purple State.” Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner talks to them about the unseating of two Democrats in a state largely led by Democrats. The GOP is feeling emboldened after the ouster of State Senator Angela Giron in Pueblo and State Senate President John Morse in Colorado Springs.
