Remembering the 1911 Flood

Listen Now

A hundred years ago, Southwest Colorado was cut off from the rest of the state by a huge flood. Andrew Gulliford teaches history at Fort Lewis College in Durango. When Gulliford realized the 100th anniversary was approaching, he started looking for old newspaper stories and found several that documented how devastating the flood was for the region. Gulliford speaks with CPR’s Andrea Dukakis.
