Gleb Derujinsky fit the description Renaissance man about as much as anyone could. He was a fashion photographer in the 1950s and '60s for Harper’s Bazaar. He raced Ferraris, flew gliders and designed some of the first carbon fiber bikes. Derujinsky moved to Durango with his wife, Wallis, in 1976. They died earlier this month in a car accident in town. Their friend, Brandon Donahue, manages the Open Shutter Gallery in Durango. Ryan Warner asked Donahue what he thought of Gleb when they first met.
