In 1867, a man named Teofilo Trujillo built an adobe house on a lonely piece of land near the Great San Dunes in the San Luis Valley. Historians who's studied what’s left of that house -- and another built by Trujillo’s son, Pedro, have uncovered such an unusual story that the homesteads are up for national landmark status. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar grew up in valley, and he'll make the final decision. Ryan Warner speaks with archaeologist Marilyn Martorano, who’s studied the Trujillo homesteads.
