Thousands of lives have been interrupted by the floods around Colorado over the past week, but signs of normalcy are starting to return. Staying true to the saying “the show must go on,” The Boulder International Fringe Festival is running as planned, in spite of several flood-related challenges.

The annual event has been showcasing underground, independently produced performances by local, national and international artists since 2005. CPR Arts Editor Chloe Veltman caught up with the festival’s executive director, David Ortolano as the 12-day event was getting underway. He says cancellation was never really an option because Fringe Festivals are all about the spirit of improvisation.
