Even as President Donald Trump's overnight tweet threatening Iran attracts attention, there's still huge controversy over not only Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, but also over his invitation for a second summit this fall in Washington, D.C. That offer was a major topic of discussion during the annual Aspen Security Forum. One panel dissected what happened in Helsinki and explored what might take place in future summits.

Speakers on the panel included Victoria Nuland, a former assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs in the Obama Administration; Andrew Weiss, a former National Security Council staffer during the Clinton Administration; and Nina Khrushcheva, a professor of international affairs at the New School, as well as the granddaughter of former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev. The panel's moderator was Julia Ioffe, a correspondent for GQ.
