Today we're talking about investigations but not the kind you’d watch on CSI or Law and Order. We’re talking about people who comb the forest looking for clues as to how and what started a wildfire. This happens after blazes like the recent one west of Boulder that burned more than 160 homes. An investigation also happened after the Hayman fire eight years ago. Brenda Schultz led that investigation and helped determine that the cause was a letter lit by a match. Schultz is a special agent for the Forest Service in Durango.
