Now, a story about how recycling can bring families out of poverty. The Boulder non-profit BeadforLife works with women in Uganda. These women make jewelry out of waste paper. Their creations are then sold in this country at “bead parties” in people’s homes. The non-profit’s latest campaign is to raise enough money to send 100 Ugandan girls to school. Co-founder Torkin Wakefield and her daughter started Beadforlife five years ago.
